Animal Rescue event idea for Spring Kentucky Derpy

Kentucky Derpy

Twist on an annual event

Kentucky Derpy can be a variety of events all centered around the annual Horse Race, the Kentucky Derby. Rescues could include vendor tents, food trucks, raffles, live music, dog races (humanely), Costume contest (big hats, dresses, seer suckered suits), an entry fee into the park, shirts for purchase, 5K fee, raffle tickets for purchase. As with most events, a 5K could be included, this one involving walking or running with your dog. To raise money for the shelter you could have a photobooth that charges donation only, a backdrop with photo props and donation jar. Have a volunteer at the Backdrop to take the photos with groups and keep the mood fun and happy. The event could be on the Kentucky Derby day or within the same month. The event could be held at a Brewery screening the event or park without televisions.
