Bark in the Park
A Warm Weather Event
Bark in the Park can be a variety of events all centered around warm, outdoor activities outside. Rescues could include vendor tents, food trucks, raffles, live music, Frisbee contest, Costume contest (bathing suits, sunglasses, Hawaiian shirts). As with most events, a 5K could be included, this one involving walking or running with your dog. To raise money for the shelter you could have a photobooth that charges donation only, an entry fee into the park, shirts for purchase, 5K fee, raffle tickets for purchase.
Bark in the Parks around the USA
Baseball stadiums around the country hold Bark in the Parks. The Humane Society of Tennessee Valley holds their own version which is attended by over 1,000 people. Campus Community holds a Bark in the Park Community Festival in Downtown San Jose each year. Plano, Texas holds their own version with vendors and raffle tickets. Peoria Humane Society has held a Bark in the Park for over 20 years! Paw Works of Malibu, California holds a Bark in the Park with a costume Parade and donation collection.
